STEP BY STEP TO “CUT AND PASTE”

1.       Find the item that you want to cut (this can be an icon, folder, picture, or anything else except an actual program. (see picture below)

2.       Place your mouse over the folder or item that you want to cut and single right mouse click.  (see below picture)

 

 

3.       Then put your mouse over the word CUT and single left mouse click it.  (see picture below)

4.       Now go to your destination, example: Desktop or My Documents or maybe another folder you have created for organization.  Once you go to that location you will right mouse click in an empty area in the folder.   (see picture below)

5.       Finally in the drop down menu you are going to single left mouse click the word paste and presto your file, folder, or icon is now in its new location.  (see below photos)

TIPS: Instead of click on CUT in the instructions, click on COPY and it will leave a copy of the file or document in the origination and destination location. 

 

For those advanced users out there, here are the keyboard shortcuts for cut and paste

 

Ctrl + X   =   CUT

Ctrl + C   =   COPY

Ctrl + V   =   PASTE
